AVROTROS Friday Concert: In the Living Room Recording of the AVROTROS Friday Concert of February 19, 2021

‘in collaboration with opera director Jorinde Keesmaat’

Outside the sight of the physically present theater visitor, we danced in a special project: In The Living Room, a co-production with AVROTROS. What a joy it was to work with these fantastic singers and musicians from Groot Omroep Koor and director Jorinde Keesmaat! Rhythm, rituals and Stravinsky are the ingredients of the first concert in a series of performances by the Groot Omroepkoor, conducted by conductor Benjamin Goodson. In addition to the choral works, you can hear parts from the Sacre du Printemps for 2 pianos, in which the Kalpanarts dancers play a major role. A choreography has also been made for the choir (corona-proof) by Kalpana Raghuraman. "Suddenly, the realization dawned on how notes shuttle between earth and heaven: the dancers' rhythmic stamping feet counterbalanced the overtones in Kate Moore's choral work Eclipsed Vision, an 'infinite' transmission of tenuous vocal sounds."
